I’m Emily, a designer focused on user-centred projects that combines critical thinking, functionality and aesthetics for an impactful outcome. My work explores sustainability in high end furniture, and creating positive social impact through inclusive design. I am passionate about addressing complex challenges through thoughtful, research led solutions that create lasting value for users and community.

Lot 868 is a project that challenges the perception of value through the transformation furniture that had reached the end of its life. Created from seven discarded pieces, it demonstrates the potential of waste material and celebrates the beauty found within their history and imperfections. The name ,868, references the cumulative stories and experiences embedded within the reclaimed material. A key feature of the project is the use of ceramic plugs within traditional dowel joinery holes. Rather than concealing the imperfection, the plugs highlight and acknowledges these past techniques and celebrates craftsmanship and creates a visual language for the brand Lot.
